Be Prepared! 1si Covid-19 Update |

On Friday morning, Indiana health officials confirmed the first case of the coronavirus in Indianapolis. Since that time, Indiana has reported three additional cases and Kentucky has reported six cases, as of time of printing. In response, Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb and Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear both declared statewide public health emergencies. A state of emergency is a common step in cases such as these to help the state further prepare state agencies, communities and the health care system in the event COVID-19 spreads more broadly. It is not a reason to panic but it is a reason to prepare. One Southern Indiana (1si) is monitoring official state and local government announcements in order to stay on top of recommendations for the health and well-being of its members. We will continue to hold all meetings and events as planned until we are directed by officials it is no longer safe to do so. However, with our members’ health in mind, 1si is being cautious and declaring with the office and all events touch-free until further notice, so practice your best professional wave. In addition, we strongly encourage all our members, and business owners as a whole, to look at their current SOP and procedures so they are prepared should the virus continue to spread.
