First Savings Charitable Foundation Announces Total Donations |

Clarksville, IN (December 30, 2019) Clarksville-based First Savings Bank (NASDAQ: FSFG) is pleased to announce the contributions funded by First Savings Charitable Foundation for 2019. The Foundation has gifted over $280,000 in grants supporting financial literacy in the Southern Indiana and Louisville Metro areas. Since its inception in 2009, First Savings Charitable Foundation has provided $1.38 million in grants to improve the quality of the communities served by First Savings Bank. Although a portion of the funding has been gifted throughout the year, a check presentation ceremony was held at the new company headquarters, First Savings Bank Center, located at 702 North Shore Drive in Jeffersonville. Seven organizations were present to receive their grants presented by First Savings Bank President & CEO, Larry Myers, and First Savings Charitable Foundation Chairman, Larry Ricke. “We look for opportunities to give back in a way that betters the lives of the people and communities we serve, as well as that of future generations,” said Larry Myers, President & CEO of First Savings Bank. Organization | Purpose | Grant Amount | Junior Achievement of Kentuckiana, Inc. | The funding will go towards JA BizTown and serving 4300 students who qualify for Free/Reduced lunch from Jefferson County Public Schools. | $ 115,520 | Leadership Southern Indiana | This grant will fund NEXGEN, a high school leadership development program. | $ 60,000 | Louisville Asset Building Coalition, Inc. | The funding will go towards increasing the Louisville Asset Building Coalition’s taxpayer education program. | $ 5,000 | Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kentuckiana, Inc. | The funding will go towards the school to work program, which provides high school students exposure to workplace skills and opportunities. | $ 15,000 | Louisville Housing Opportunities and Micro Enterprise (LHOME) | The funding will go towards grants for financial and small business consulting. | $ 30,000 | Indiana University Southeast | Needs-Based College Scholarships | $ 22,000 | IvyTech Community College | Needs-Based College Scholarships | $ 7,000 | About First Savings Charitable Foundation First Savings Charitable Foundation’s primary focus is Financial Literacy with consideration in the areas of Education, Economic Development and Community Vitality. The Foundation will fund only 501(c) (3) organizations and those with “public charity” status or its equivalent. Higher education will focus on scholarships and programs for business, finance, and management. Under Economic Development, the Foundation will support programs that promote job growth in the community along with providing resources to attract new businesses and cultivate the expansion of existing commerce.
