Morgan Ward Appointed to Landmarks and Preservation Districts Commission

 

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Nov. 8, 2019)—Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer has appointed Stites & Harbison, PLLC attorney Morgan Ward to serve on Louisville Metro Government’s Historic Landmarks and Preservation Districts Commission. This appointment was approved by Metro Council.

The Historic Landmarks and Preservation Districts Commission serves to preserve and protect the city’s historic and architectural resources. Members of the Landmarks Commission, along with the Architectural Review Committees, manage the review of all exterior alterations, demolition and new construction within the city’s six designated preservation districts and 96 landmarked buildings.

Ward is a Member (Partner) in the Business Litigation Service Group based in Louisville. His practice focuses on commercial litigation, real estate litigation, trust and estates disputes, regulatory litigation, constitutional law, insurance coverage litigation, trial practice, arbitration, mediation and appellate practice. Ward has argued cases before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, the Kentucky Supreme Court and the Kentucky Court of Appeals. He has tried numerous cases to jury and bench verdicts.

Outside of the firm, Ward serves the community in multiple ways. He is a member of the Board of Directors for the Legal Aid Society, a former Trustee for the Olmsted Parks Conservancy, a former director of the Louisville Bar Association and a member of the LBA’s Committee on Judicial Independence and Integrity. In addition, Ward coordinates much of the firm’s pro-bono work in the Louisville office, and has been recognized as an Outstanding Volunteer Lawyer by the Legal Aid Society.
