MXD Process Considers Moving Back to Jeffersonville for Expansion
Plans Call for 40 New Full-Time Positions by the End of 2023

JEFFERSONVILLE, IND. (July 15, 2019) – Today, officials from One Southern Indiana (1si), the chamber of commerce and economic development organization for Clark and Floyd counties, Ind., in coordination with the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC), announced MXD Process’ intention to return to Jeffersonville to lease a new facility at 4650 New Middle Road.  The $1.8 million project, contingent on the Jeffersonville City Council’s approval of incentives, is estimated to create 40 new jobs, paying an average of 10 percent above the Clark County wage.

MXD Process, formerly Mixer Direct, is a manufacturer of industrial mixers, stainless steel tanks and batch control systems that automate mixing operations in a client’s laboratory or work site.  In addition, the MXD Process engineering department has the ability to design and build customized product solutions to address the needs of a customer’s unique application.  In 2018, the company was accepted into Endeavour, an international network that selects, via an application and selection process, mentors and accelerates start-up businesses.

Established in 2010 in the City of Jeffersonville, the company has operated in a Louisville, Ky., facility for the past seven years.  After two additions to the Louisville facility, the owners have decided to move to a larger facility in order to accommodate approximately $10 million in annual sales.  Representatives for the company, along with 1si, will appear in front of the Jeffersonville City Council tonight to request approval of tax abatements as an incentive for the possible move back to Indiana.

“MXD Process was founded nine years ago in Jeffersonville, Ind., and we are excited about the possibility of relocating to a facility in our hometown,” said CEO and President Mark Franco. “This move will propel our company’s growth for the next 20 years and allow us to work more efficiently and collaboratively, which will translate into accelerated product innovation cycles and more responsive customer service.  We look forward to moving the project forward with the city council’s approval.”

The IEDC offered MXD Process up to $320,000 in conditional tax credits based on the company’s job creation plans. These tax credits are performance-based, meaning until Hoosiers are hired, the company is not eligible to claim incentives.

“Home to the highest concentration of manufacturing jobs in the nation, Indiana continues to be a global destination for manufacturers,” said Elaine Bedel, president of the IEDC. “Our state’s pro-growth business climate paired with our pipeline of talented Hoosiers makes us the perfect place for innovative manufacturing companies like MXD Process to locate and grow. We’re grateful they chose Indiana over 49 other states and are excited to see them propel our manufacturing industry even further.”

Jeffersonville Mayor Mike Moore was excited about the news, saying, “With the continuous upgrades in amenities and infrastructure, Jeffersonville continues to both attract and produce first-class companies like MXD Process.  Their intention to return to the City of Jeffersonville is exciting news and, should the council approve the requested tax abatements this evening, the City of Jeffersonville stands ready to help ensure their current success continues into the future.”

“MXD Process is homegrown company with incredible growth potential, and 1si is ready to celebrate this ‘up-and-coming’ company’s intent to stay in our region,” said 1si President and CEO Wendy Dant Chesser.  “The company’s President and CEO Mark Franco is known as an innovative entrepreneur, and his company’s inclusion as an Endeavour company only adds to the quality of companies that can be found in the Southern Indiana/Louisville Metro area.”
