I signed up for pest control quarterly and mosquito service less than a year ago via email. They gave me a price and stated in the email exactly this regarding pest control:
"PCQ
We will provide pest control treatment every three months on the exterior and interior of home (garage, etc.) at a cost of $103.00 per service. This service has a full warranty for the covered insects. Please contact our office if service is needed in between regular visits. Do you agree to the terms of this ongoing service as I have described?"
They have been treating my house, garage and shed every trip till this last time when the technician said only the house was on the receipt. In order to continue spraying the garage and shed, it'd be $133.00 going forward. Instead of just saying they made a mistake (or lied, who knows?) when setting me up initially, they just defend their pricing. I'm not even arguing the pricing. I just want them to acknowledge that I was sold one thing and then months later they changed. Clearly someone made a mistake at Black Diamond so be aware that when they sell you on what all they plan on treating, it is probably incorrect. Instead of admitting that, they will just act like you're lying.
Another gripe I've had is that they don't notify you when they schedule an appointment ahead of time. You'll randomly get a call that your technician is 30 minutes away. So if you aren't retired or don't work from home, that is an issue you may want to consider.
The only positive thing is that the mosquito service really made a difference. They aren't worth the hassle though when there are so many other options and I prefer to keep all of my pest control services with one company.
Update:
This is in response to Black Diamond's response to my original review.
1. On 3/20, the technician told me that I needed to pay $133 instead of $103 going forward, contrary to the original agreement. However, since he was already there, he said he could go ahead and spray everywhere this time only. I decided I was going to cancel due to the contradiction, so I said he didn't have to do anything and just leave.
2. A supervisor reached out immediately and doubled down on the price increase. He reemphasized that my garage and shed were not covered. After I read him the email I had from signup, the conversation ended, and said he'd cancel my service. I signed up elsewhere and the new company came out and fixed everything within a couple days.
3. I received calls from Black Diamond on 3/25 and 3/27 from management and they wanted to talk about the reviews I posted online. In these calls, they did offer to come out to treat everything and told me that the technician and supervisor were incorrect about needing to increase the price from $103 to $133. I was told the garage and shed were, in fact, covered, just like I said. At this point I had already cancelled and signed up with another company so there was nothing left to fix; hence the offer was denied.
4. The "one off service" was for ants in the house (which are covered) and boxelder beetles in the shed (which are not covered). I have had them come twice in between services for ants because they have been unable to stop them. I did not mention this because it was irrelevant. As I mentioned, they were trying to make me pay more for general pest service, which is what my review was about. Once they told me the boxelder beetles were not covered, I never mentioned it again and couldn't care less about it. They keep bringing up the pest warranty and boxelder beetles as misdirection, as I have no issue with either.
5. I was never informed about the notice of arrival options, till the call on 3/27. I had complained about this before, but it was never offered. Had I been aware of this option, I would have utilized it.
6. The misunderstanding is not about the pest warranty. The issue is the attempted price increase from $103 to $133 which contradicted the initial agreement. Management acknowledged this on the 3/25 and 3/27 calls.
7. I appreciate their attempts to reconcile, but I had already cancelled the service and engaged another company before these conversations took place.
8. My hope is that my experience can help improve this company's service for future customers. I believe in the potential for companies in this area to provide excellent service, and I'll continue to share my experiences to contribute to that goal.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Management reached out immediately after your last service and again a week later in an attempt to resolve these concerns. We are happy to hear the mosquito service was effective and would love to reconcile this and keep services with you but in the least hope that you will see our customers’ satisfaction is important to us.
We offered to spray your requested area, complimentary, to ensure your shed issues are taken care of on 3/20/24 and again on 3/27 and you denied our offer both times. The price you were given for your services was correct, there was no overcharge for the size of the home. The last service run was an out of routine visit that was requested by you per your call to our office. The day of service you asked for treatment for boxelder beetles, which is not included under the general pest warranty plan you signed up for. To add that insect treatment is an additional service/charge. We are always happy to answer any warranty questions by calling the same number you have for other occasions.
As far as notice of arrival is concerned, any agent here is happy to help set up visits that meet customer needs and schedules. You can specify days and times of preference as well as when to be notified. There are many options, some include; advance day ahead, 2 hours before and even create a schedule if you’d like. You can choose Call, text, email, or all.
Please note, we have revised our verbiage in the email response we send out at service set up to reflect a better description of the areas covered under general pest warranty in hopes of avoiding this type of confusion in the future. Multiple wasp nests removed quickly and safely. Black Diamond came out within two days of calling for help. My husband tried to handle the problem and fell off of a ladder, requiring surgery. Drake not only got the nests on our porch, but also checked the rest of the house and removed another one we weren't aware of. Total cost $225 -- worth every Penny! Hopefully we won't be getting stung anymore. It's been a nightmare. Thank you, Black Diamond.

I was very impressed with these folks. We hadn't had a spray done so I called them. They quoted me the price and it was what was quoted. The technician was early and professional. The spray took about 30 minutes total. They were very knowledgeable and respectful. They have pet friendly spray. I recommend you using them if you need basic stuff done for your home.

Black Diamond serviced my property today. Management had promised to charge my old rate for this service, due to me complaining they had raised my rate without notification prior to my last service.

We did come to a reasonable solution that will make the situation acceptable to me. However the solution, picked by me, will take place on the next time they service my property in a few months.
At that time I'll do another review reflecting if they follow through with our agreed solution.Aug 10, 2021Previous reviewWe've used Black Diamond for many years. We are on their maintenance program and they service our home every 3 or 4 months.
They've done a pretty good job throughout our time using them. Additionally, they've kept our price reasonable and in general we've been happy with them.
Today, they did their normal service. When we were given the invoice they had raised our price $10.
I'm actually ok with the increase since we've been paying the same price for years. However, I didn't like finding out they had raised our price AFTER they serviced our property. It seems to me any reasonable company would have notified us in advance of the price increase PRIOR to the tech handing us the invoice.

I have been using Black Diamond for over 20 years, personally and professionally! Client with everything from fleas, bedbugs, roaches, waterbugs, spiders and personally for stink bugs, spiders and mosquitos! Recently they treated for carpenter bees at a rental. They even removed raccoons once! I have always had a great experience!

I had to take a few minutes to thank Black Diamond for their efficient and gracious customer service and to share my great experience.
I let my terrier out into my fenced-in backyard about 2:30 pm one afternoon last week - as usual. The next thing I heard was growling, hissing, rocks flying - she encountered a raccoon sheltering in a corner under my raised deck. I was terrified the raccoon might be sick or rabid and would bite my dog, so I called the dog off (she's well-trained), and once she was safely in the house, I went to check things out for myself.
I sprayed the raccoon with water, threw rocks at it and tried to coax it out with a broom (from a distance), but, it was scared, angry and hunkered down.
I called my neighbor, who highly recommended Black Diamond, a company they'd used previously and were extremely satisfied with - so I gave them a call about 3:30 pm. I initially spoke with Ambrosia, a very pleasant, efficient customer service tech. I explained my situation: older, ill and terrified for my dog. She immediately got the owner, Brandon Spelman, on the phone and explained my situation. I could hear them talking. He had her move his schedule around, and before I knew it, he was pulling in my driveway (5:15 pm that same day).
Within 30 minutes, he was caging the raccoon [who put up a real struggle and tried to run] and loading him in to his truck for transport elsewhere.
Brandon is knowledgeable, friendly, down-to-earth and tenacious - I was 'totally' impressed with him and Ambrosia. I don't often write reviews, because it seems great customer service doesn't come along that often, but I had to write this review. By the way, I absolutely was NOT compensated in any way for this review - this is a heartfelt thank you to Brandon and Black Diamond.
If we, as Americans, are sincere about supporting the small business-owner who's trying to make an honest living by providing a much needed service at a reasonable price, then, let's stop talking about it and start doing it. Please, do yourself a favor and make your first and last pest control call to Black Diamond (513) 233-7612. Purchasing a new home and wanted to ensure termite-free. Called Black Diamond, spoke with Rachel and scheduled an appointment easily and quickly. She explained the process in a professional and friendly fashion. Bobby , our technician, called when he was on his way and called when he completed the inspection. Received a thorough report via email the same day! Excellent service all around. Will be our go-to provider for all things pest related.

Our window of service was noon to 5:00pm. We wasted the afternoon waiting. Finally, after 6:00pm the technician showed up. Travis called and our issues are resolved.
