Youth Link Southern Indiana surrounds students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. Founded in 2002, we began as one of 187 local affiliates of the national organization Communities In Schools. In 2021, we broke away from the CIS charter and rebranded as Youth Link Southern Indiana. We provide in-school supports and afterschool programming to 15 elementary, two middle, one high school in Clark County and New Albany High School in Floyd County, IN. In-school supports typically consist of Resource Coordinators who provide tutoring, coordinate a literacy mentoring program, and coordinate mental health services provided by licensed mental health professionals. The afterschool programming, held before and afterschool, includes both homework help and enrichment activities. Youth Link Southern Indaiana also provides expansive services to whole schools or grade levels such as vision screenings for all first graders. Our model of services ensures that the whole community comes together to support students.
