Benchmark Family Services is a therapeutic foster care agency. Therapeutic foster homes care for youth who have been traumatized, neglected, or abused. These foster children may have a number of presenting challenges that are a direct result from their past. Children in need of therapeutic foster care often live with emotional, mental, and physical disabilities. Our goal is to provide stable, out-of-home placements for children in need, working with child welfare agencies to provide quality care to youth in the least restrictive setting possible. The results we see in the youth that pass through our care encourage us to carry on in our mission to give even the most troubled kids a second chance. By recruiting and training a network of professional, therapeutic foster care homes in Indiana and Kentucky, we are able to offer our contracting agencies a variety of beds available for the youth they serve at a moment’s notice. We support our homes with on-going training, 24/7 on-call availability, financial reimbursement, and professional support staff. Our program staff manages the cases assigned to our agency by providing weekly contacts and visits to the home and youth in care. We also coordinate therapy and psychiatric services for the youth in our care. Benchmark’s mission is to work alongside referring agencies to provide stable and caring placements for youth in need of out-of-home care. We advocate for children by ensuring reasonable opportunities for healthy physical, psychological, and emotional growth in the most normal and least restrictive setting possible.To this end, Benchmark will provide and coordinate programs and services in cooperation with referring child welfare agencies.
