St. Elizabeth Catholic Charities is now accepting applications for the Culinary Teaching Kitchen’s second class

June 20, 2018

New Albany, IN—St. Elizabeth Catholic Charities is a non-profit organization who works to affirm the dignity of all human life through sheltering, counseling, supported living, and adoption services in the surrounding community. They have introduced a new educational opportunity to the women of Southern Indiana called the Culinary Teaching Kitchen. This free program aims to provide the knowledge and experience to students, so that they have the skills and confidence to obtain jobs within the food industry.

The program is 12 sessions with each consisting of a classroom lesson and a practical in the kitchen portion. Students will receive certification in Servsafe upon completion of the course. There is a newly renovated kitchen for students that are willing to learn and committed to attending the classes. This program is possible by the Impact 100 if Southern Indiana grant awarded to St. Elizabeth in September of 2017 and donations raised by the organization itself.

The next class is set to begin August 8, 2018.
