The Horseshoe Foundation of Floyd County is a private foundation formed to provide lasting funding for projects and initiatives which benefit the citizens of the Floyd County. To date; the Horseshoe Foundation has awarded over $42.3 million in grants and scholarships to hundreds of local organizations and over 750 deserving students enabling them to get a college or technical school degree. $2.4 million is generating economic development through the Small Business Revolving Loan program as well as $25,000 in matching funds for the Kiva 0% interest business start-up loans. The IU Southeast Student Investment fund of $190,000 provides a real-world learning experience in investment portfolio management for MBA students; the only fund of its kind in the metro area. Horseshoe Southern Indiana has contributed nearly $60 million to the Foundation. The Foundation board is committed to funding good work in the community, while investing enough to insure the foundation lasts forever.
