After celebrating the summer with butterflies, the Louisville Zoo kicks off the Halloween season with the “Not-So Itsy Bitsy” Spider House in the same space as Butterflies n’ Blooms on Sunday Oct.1. Open weather permitting through Oct. 31 with support from Orkin.

Guests can stroll alongside the spiders and their intricate webs in the 1,000 sq. ft. walk-through spider house.

The “Not-So Itsy Bitsy” Spider House is free with Zoo admission and is open Monday through Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Thursday through Sunday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Zoo closes early on nights of “The World’s Largest Halloween Party!”).

The spider house will open with the following species: spotted orb weavers, golden orb weavers, banded garden spiders, golden silk orb weavers, giant golden orb weavers, spiny orb weavers, orchard spiders and grass spiders.
