Clarksville Cove Recognized for Excellence in Design/Construction

Award presented Thursday in Indianapolis, IN

CLARKSVILLE, IN (September 29, 2017) – The Clarksville Cove Family Aquatic Center has only been open for one season, and the new facility is already receiving praise from those in the construction industry.

The aquatic center was recognized Thursday at the Scottish Rite Cathedral in Indianapolis. Representatives of the Clarksville Parks Department and the Redevelopment Commission were presented the Award of Merit at the Associated of Builders and Contractors Indiana/Kentucky Chapter Awards Gala. The award was in recognition of the excellent design and construction of the new Clarksville Cove Family Aquatic Center. Also at the ceremony were representatives of MAC Construction, the company which constructed the aquatic center.

After more than 20 years of operation, the Clarksville Family Aquatic Center was forced to close in 2016 due to leaking pipes and outdated and inefficient pool equipment. Working with the Redevelopment Commission, the Clarksville Parks Department lead a major redevelopment and redesign of the facility. The new Clarksville Cove Family Aquatic Center opened to the public in May 2017.
