New Hope Expands Healthy Families Program to Columbus, IN

Jeffersonville, IN – New Hope Services is pleased to announce that it is expanding its Healthy Families program to serve residents of Bartholomew County, as of September 1, 2017.

The office is located at the Doug Otto United Way Center, 1531 13th Street in Columbus, the same building where the WIC (Women, Infants and Children) Clinic is located.  New Hope currently provides the program in 14 other counties in southern and southeastern Indiana.

Healthy Families is a voluntary and confidential home-based service to support new and expectant parents. Families receive regular visits from a trained Family Support Specialist who can provide support, developmental assessments for their child, and an opportunity to set and accomplish family goals.

A Family Support Specialist may work with a family before a baby is born until the child turns 3. They bring families the latest information on baby’s heath and development, along with specific activities families can use to help their child reach his or her full potential. Additionally, the program helps parents access community resources.
