NEW ENTREPRENEURSHIP CENTER “ 1804” OPENS FOR BUSINESS!

The Blue Sky Network and Ogle Foundation are proud to announce the creation of a new regional entrepreneurship center to be located at 744 East Market Street in Louisville, Kentucky. The registered 501c(3) organization’s sole purpose will be to create a more fertile ground for entrepreneurship in the region by providing services, training, and mentorship to new business ventures.

The new center, called “1804”, is named in recognition of the beginning year of the Lewis and Clark Expedition. 1804 will seek to act as a central point for entrepreneurs, startups, large corporations, venture funds, angel investors, and pertinent service providers to come together in a central location.

Future plans also include another location to be opened in Southern Indiana and thereby serving both sides of the Ohio River.

Madison Hamman, Blue Sky Manager and Interim Director of 1804, stated that the facility will fill a real need for those with dreams and ideas, but no resources to see them through.

“Lack of density in entrepreneurs and related services has been a problem for our region for several years” said Hamman. “By creating a ‘big tent’ membership organization, completely blind to the Indiana vs. Kentucky mentality, with curated access to the best resources our region has to offer, we will be able to create a more friendly environment for would be entrepreneurs to take the leap. We want to be the front door to entrepreneurship in our region,“ he said.

1804 will be a membership organization with members having access to many events. Events that could include entrepreneurship training courses, coding classes, as well as events hosted by affiliated and like-minded organizations that could bring entrepreneurs and investors together.

Those joining Hamman on the 1804 board of directors include: Victor Swami, CEO/ Areva Pharmaceuticals; Doug Whyte, CEO, Performance Capital Partners; Christopher LaMothe, CEO, Elevate Ventures; Kent Lanum, President/CEO, Paul Ogle Foundation; Bryce Butler, Founder & Managing Director, Access Ventures; Galen Powers, EVP SIDIS Global, CEO MobileMedTek and CoFounder Lens Factory; and Jackson Andrews, Managing Director, Endeavor Louisville.

Finally, 1804 also intends to attract other investors who have recently shown interest in investing in the Midwest and rust belt markets.
