Louisville, KY – GCH International, a full-service custom sheet metal fabrication and large-scale process and industrial systems manufacturer, has announced that the company will move from its current location on Boxley Avenue to a new, larger facility at 3000 W. Broadway in Summer 2017. The goal of the move is to allow GCH to expand their manufacturing/production space, construct heavy-capacity industrial applications and further incorporate lean manufacturing principles.
The 54,000-sq.-ft. building, formerly Republic Industries and prior to that part of Tube Turns, is currently undergoing renovations to expand the office space.
The larger facility will enable GCH to expand on its current work in manufacturing tanks, hoppers, platforms, conveyors and other larger-scale process and industrial equipment from a current capacity of 15,000 lbs. to a maximum capacity of 100,000 lbs. It will also provide a larger final assembly and testing area. In addition, the company is adding a grit blasting process, which is used to prepare surfaces for high-performance coatings or to provide a luster and surface texture to metal fabricated parts.
In anticipation of the move, GCH hired a new plant manager, who is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt, in early 2016. The company has spent the last year focusing on move-readiness and implementing Lean Six Sigma principles. GCH expects to add at least six full-time employees as part of their growth in 2017-2018.
