Huber’s wins “Best of Show” & “Best of Indiana” wine awards at the 15th Annual Indiana Wine Fair

STARLIGHT, INDIANA - Huber’s Orchard, Winery, & Vineyards took away top awards at this year’s Indiana Wine Fair wine competition held at Story Inn located in Nashville, Indiana. This was the 15th year for the wine competition and Huber’s went head to head in competition with other Indiana wineries and were delighted to be awarded the “Best of Show” & “Best of Indiana Grown” with their “Heritage” which is an estate grown, Bordeaux-style red blend.

This is the first time in the 15 year history of the Indiana Wine Fair that the “Best of Show” was also estate grown and bottled allowing the Indiana Uplands American Viticulture Area (AVA) distinction to shine through for all those consumers wanting to enjoy those grape varieties grown in Indiana vineyards. Huber’s were also awarded “Gold” medals for their Heritage, Sparkling Muscato, and Knobstone Reserve. “Silver” medals were awarded for their Vignoles, Starlight Rose, and Sweet Marcella and “Bronze” medals were awarded for their Generations and Starlight White.

Huber’s lead winemaker, Jason Heiligenberg, had this to say about the awards, “It is always encouraging to be recognized for our efforts to make wines that showcase the quality of fruit coming from the soils of the Indiana Uplands, and, more specifically, the Huber estate vineyards. These wines tell the story of the interaction between climate, vine, soil, and the people who work to craft them.”

Huber’s will be pouring samples of some of these award winners at the Indiana Wine Fair taking place at the Story Inn on Saturday, May 13, 2017 from 1:00 – 7:00. For more information about the award winning wines produced at Huber’s Orchard, Winery, & Vineyards, visit www.huberwinery.com .
