5K Walk Planned to Raise Community Awareness about Addiction

New Albany, IN - Join the Floyd Memorial Foundation on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the New Albany Amphitheater as we walk to stop addiction. The Floyd Memorial Foundation is hosting this 5K Stop Addiction Walk to raise awareness about addiction and funds for treatment initiatives to better serve the individual seeking treatment and also the family members needing support.

Specifically, the Floyd Memorial Foundation is raising funds to support a 24/7 call center staffed with clinicians who will answer questions and connect the caller, either the addictive patient or family member seeking help, with the appropriate agency or therapy group to support them within a 24 hour period. The second long range goal is a much needed 90-day inpatient treatment center to appropriately and adequately serve those in this region seeking treatment.

Families, businesses, church and school groups are invited to join us as we walk through downtown New Albany and share our support to stop addiction. There will be kids’ activities, novelties and live music awaiting walkers as they return to the Amphitheater.

Addiction impacts every layer of our community, not just an individual or family. By taking a stand to stop addiction and support those in need by providing critical and invaluable resources, Floyd Memorial Foundation is hopeful that we can restore our community with healthy, productive members of society.

Join us May 20, 2017 to help us Stop Addiction. Registration to walk is $25 ($20 if registered by May 17). Each registered walker will receive a t-shirt on walk day. Prizes will be given to the team that raises the most funds by May 20. For more information about sponsoring or walking in the Walk, visit www.FloydFoundation.org.
