(March 17, 2017) Lexington, Ky.— NetGain Technologies welcomes Jason Bowra in the managed I.T. services provider’s first-ever Vice President of Operations position. Bowra will helm the 95-member operations staff based in NetGain’s Lexington, Ky., headquarters and branch offices in Louisville, Ky.; Cincinnati, Ohio; Birmingham, Ala.; St. Louis, Mo.; Chattanooga, Tenn.; and Little Rock, Ark.
In Bowra’s nearly 30 years in the technology industry, he has worked at large companies including CDW, Logicalis, E.W. Scripps, and Fifth Third Bank. He has led teams up to 300 staff, located across the United States, U.K., and India. Bowra cites NetGain’s core values as a primary motivation to join the family run technology based company.
“Coming from larger companies where you can easily be lost in head count, NetGain felt like the right fit for me at this point in my life,” Bowra said. “I truly appreciated the company’s core values, and I connected to the owners from our very first conversation. When Jason and Brendan Jacobson talked about where they saw their company in the next 10 years, and how they felt about their employees who would help them get there, I knew I had to be a part of that journey.”
As a worldwide top-100 managed I.T. services provider (MSP), and with a companywide BHAG (“big, hairy, audacious goal) of $3 million in monthly recurring revenue (MRR), NetGain knew managed I.T. services experience was crucial for the new senior position. CEO Jason Jacobson searched for candidates with extensive experience within a larger managed services environment—a significant challenge because NetGain already is one of the region’s largest MSPs.
“We knew we needed someone who had been where we want to go—someone who was already doing what we do, but on a larger scale, and successfully,” Jacobson said. “That’s the only way for us to keep growing and reach our goals.”
Jacobson said that Bowra impressed the NetGain candidate search team not only for his technical expertise and strong leadership, but also because his character fits “The NetGain Way”—the core values of the company.
“Our company is about our employees and our clients. Our services and solutions are top class, but without the people, we have nothing,” said Jacobson. “As we see it, a large part of our job as owners is treating them so they know and feel their value. Our core values at NetGain are honesty, integrity, family first, recognition, and treating people with the respect they deserve and are owed. We greatly appreciate the input from our employees, and we ask for that input and new ideas on a regular basis—and we don’t just ask ,we put those ideas into action. This is something that Jason Bowra also felt, understood, and wanted to be a part of.”
As vice president of operations, Bowra will work to bring the quality of NetGain’s service delivery to new standards of excellence, while simultaneously enhancing the company’s profitability and revenue growth. He will lead a talented and experienced team in delivering best-in-class I.T. service to NetGain’s business clients. Achieving success in this role will require developing and refining his business consulting skill set within all client support functions, leading to clients receiving I.T. services that help their businesses run more effectively.
Brendan Jacobson, president of NetGain Technologies, was impressed by Bowra’s record of success in his previous career roles. “Jason brings a tremendous set of qualifications to NetGain’s executive team. Having his knowledge and experience will allow us to serve our clients even better, and to continue growing strategically.”
Morgan Chapman, the MSP’s director of development, worked closely with the new V.P. of operations during Bowra’s onboarding “NetGain Technologies has experienced rapid growth over last eight years and there are no plans to slow down,” Chapman said. “Jason will no doubt hit the ground running within operations and add to an already enviable employee culture.”
