 Finalists Announced for 1si ONE Awards – Online Voting Begins Wednesday

NEW ALBANY, IND. (March 14, 2017) – One Southern Indiana (1si), the chamber of commerce and economic development organization for Clark and Floyd counties, announced today the finalists for the 2017 “ONE” Awards and invited members to vote for their favorite fellow member businesses. The ONE Award is scheduled for Thursday, April 6, 2017 from 5:30 to 9:00 p.m. at Huber’s Orchard, Winery and Vineyard’s Plantation Hall in Borden, Ind., and honors winners in five categories.

The finalists were chosen by an independent panel of judges and selected based on criteria of business history, community involvement, response to adversity, newly-created opportunities and innovation in products or services. However, members of the community will have an opportunity to cast their vote for the business they think is most deserving by going online to the 1si Facebook page at:
https://www.facebook.com/OneSouthernIndiana/. Online voting will end on Friday, March 17th at midnight and will count for twenty-five percent of the nominees’ final score. Winners will be announced at the event on April 6. Tickets for the event are on sale now.

“All of our finalists are of the highest caliber, and the scoring by the judges is very tight. Selecting the best in each category will depend on our members’ input through online voting, which could determine the winner in several categories,” said Wendy Dant Chesser, president and CEO of 1si. “Our goal is to provide an event in which the membership participates and has a stake. Online voting creates a social media buzz around the event.”

At the event, attendees will enjoy networking, hors d’oeuvres, buffet style dinner and a full production awards program. Over 400 guests are expected to attend and the event is open to the public. Winners from past years are highly encouraged to attend and will be given special recognition in the program. Individual reservations for 1si members are $60 each, tables of eight are available for $440, and guests are $85 each. Reservations may be made by visiting www.1si.org or by calling (812) 945-0266.
