Relocation of Adoption Bridges of Kentuckiana Celebrated |

LOUISVILLE, KEN. (February 21, 2017) Adoption Bridges of Kentuckiana, a program of St. Elizabeth Catholic Charities, celebrated the relocation of their office to 159 Saint Matthews Avenue, Suite 5, Louisville, Kentucky, on Tuesday, February 21st, with a ribbon cutting hosted by One Southern Indiana (1si). Attending the event were 1si President Wendy Dant Chesser, 1si ambassadors and staff, and the public. Adoption Bridges of Kentuckiana is the largest, licensed non-profit adoption agency in the region. They are unique in that they also own and operate a shelter for pregnant women and a transitional shelter for single mothers and their children. Formerly Adoption Bridges of Kentucky, the agency was founded in 2006 by adoptive parents and adoption advocates who believe that adoption is a loving choice that benefits children. The agency merged with the Adoption Services Program of St. Elizabeth Catholic Charities in late 2014. Through the merger, Adoption Bridges has expanded their team of experienced adoption professionals and increased their service area to include all of Kentucky and Southern Indiana. According to Agency Director Mark Casper, the staff now consists of three full-time and three contract workers. Highlights of the merged program include: • Full domestic adoption program for adoptive families in Kentucky and Southern Indiana; • International & Independent home study and post placement services; • Lifelong counseling services available for adoptive parents, adoptees and birth parents; • Full range of services for birth parents including adoption planning and financial assistance • Options for birth parents to utilize maternity home and distribution center; • Offices in downtown Louisville, Ky., and an office in New Albany, Ind.
