Planning Committee Members Needed for ClarkFEST 2017

Local residents and businesses encouraged to participate in the annual festival.

CLARKSVILLE, IN – The Town of Clarksville’s largest public festival is back in 2017, and organizers are looking for local residents interested in being a part of the action.  ClarkFEST is an annual event sponsored by the Town of Clarksville, and held in the month of October at Clarksville’s Gateway Park.  Each year, ClarkFEST features several family-friendly activities such as a parade, car show, live music, inflatables, community booths, food booths, games, and other great activities.  This year’s ClarkFEST will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2017.

This event would not be possible without the support of the volunteers who make up the event planning committee.  The committee is made up each year by local residents, business owners, and members of the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department.  ClarkFEST, Inc., which runs the annual event, is currently searching for new planning committee members.  The time commitment is minimal for planning committee volunteers, but the impact to the Clarksville community is dramatic.  Anyone is welcome to volunteer, but local business leaders are being encouraged to step up and give back by helping with the planning of the annual festival.

The first meeting of the ClarkFEST planning committee will be on Wednesday, February 22 at 6:00pm at the Clarksville Branch of the Jeffersonville Township Public Library.  This meeting is open to anyone interested in learning more about volunteering with ClarkFEST.  For more information, area residents can contact Clarksville Parks Communications Director Ken Conklin at 812-283-1423 or kconklin@clarksvilleparks.com.
