CLARKSVILLE, IN – The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department is proud to announce the recognition of one of our employees at the state level. Communications Director Ken Conklin received the IPRA Exceptional Young Professional Award during the state conference late last week.

The Young Professional Award is presented to a current parks and recreation professional who exhibits the attributes of an emerging leader, as displayed through their initiative, innovation, and contributions to the park and recreation field. The IPRA Annual Awards of Excellence recognize agencies and individuals throughout Indiana that embody the vision, dedication, and excellence needed in the field of parks and recreation. These awards highlight efforts that transcend everyday standards in order to make a difference and improve the quality of life in Indiana’s communities. IPRA award winners include park and recreation professionals, organizations, agencies, and volunteers. The awards were presented at the IPRA Awards of Excellence Banquet in Indianapolis, Indiana, on Wednesday, January 18, 2017.

Since joining the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department in 2013, Ken Conklin has served as the Marketing and Programming Coordinator, and has been responsible for developing recreational programs and special events for the Town of Clarksville.
