Rails Craft Brew and Eatery Opens in Clarksville

NEW ALBANY, IN. (October 24, 2016) – Rails Craft Brew and Eatery celebrated its grand opening at their 318 Lewis & Clark Parkway location in Clarksville, Wednesday, October 19st, with a ribbon cutting hosted by One Southern Indiana (1si). The event was attended by Clarksville Town President, Paul Fetter; Indiana State Representative Ed Clere; 1si President and CEO, Wendy Dant Chesser, 1si Ambassadors and staff and the public.

Rails Craft Brew and Eatery officially opened on July 26, 2016 and is owned by David Lawrence. The restaurant serves an All-American cuisine with an International flair within a historic setting. Rails is open Sunday through Thursday, 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Friday and Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. to midnight. Rails chose the Clarksville location because of its history to the area. The McCulloch Homestead, also known as the Montrose, blended itself to the Rails concept. Rails currently employs 40 employees, of which 20 are part-time.

Rails Craft Brew and Eatery plays on the area’s history as a railroad hub. This is the second location of Rails Craft Brew, which started in Seymour, IN. Rails is known for their 22 craft beers on tap in the spacious bar, not to mention many more varieties in bottles. Rails is not just a place to have a nice cold craft beer, but also known for an eclectic, family-pleasing menu. Along with their All-American menu and large selection of craft beer, Rails offers special rooms for private events downstairs, upstairs, as well as outside. Whether one is celebrating an anniversary, birthday, holiday party, retirement, wedding rehearsal dinner, or hosting a business meeting, Rails can accommodate the event.

David, the owner, believes in being involved in the community and feels it is important that he gives back. Some of the local charities Rails has been involved with include: Breast Cancer Awareness Coalition, Boys & Girls Club in Seymour, IN, The Salvation Army, and the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
