1si Announces Finalists for Non-Profit of the Year
One of Five Awards to be Given at Annual Meeting on Aug. 16

NEW ALBANY, IND. (August 8, 2016) One Southern Indiana (1si) announced today that Family & Children’s Place, Goodwill of Southern Indiana, Inc., and St. Elizabeth Catholic Charities are the finalists for the 2016 Non-Profit of the Year Award, which will be presented at the organization’s annual meeting on Aug. 16 at the Horseshoe Southern Indiana Showroom. Other awards to be presented include Ambassador of the Year, Chairperson of the Year, Economic Development Partner of the Year and Volunteer of the Year.

This year, in addition to the awards ceremony, the annual meeting will highlight 1si’s 10th Anniversary, as well as feature special presentations by Eric Doden, CEO of Greater Fort Wayne, Inc., and Lisa Long, chair of the Indiana Chamber Executives Association Board of Directors. 1si members will also be asked to vote on the slate of candidates for the 2016 - 2017 1si Board of Directors.

“This will be a special occasion as we mark 10 years of service to and success for our members and the Southern Indiana community,” said Wendy Dant Chesser, president and CEO of 1si. “It is a time of celebration as well as a time to reaffirm our commitment to make Clark and Floyd counties, and the entire region, the place where visitors, young professionals, businesses and entrepreneurs want to work, live, grow and play. We will not only be looking back at our accomplishments, but also planning future successes for 1si, regional businesses and the citizens of the metro area. I encourage all our members, past and future, to attend this significant event.”

Registration for the luncheon will be open through Wed., Aug 10 and tickets are $40 apiece for members and $65 apiece for future members and the general public. Members, future members and others may register online at www.1si.org.
