We are currently looking for a day shift Machinist. What will you be doing?
Set up and prepare lathes, mills, saws and other fabrication tools and equipment for cutting, shaping, and fabrication of different parts and materials throughout each day based on types of materials. Includes entering coding for parts and job into machine’s computer.
Operate lathes, mills, saws and other fabrication tools and equipment to produce contract and manufacturing parts based on existing print readings. Includes tracking of which tools are used for projects each day.
Inspect parts for quality using dial calipers, micrometers, protractors, radius gauges, tape measures, dial-pin gauges, and print readings. First-piece inspection completed and signed by team member and supervisor.
Conduct minor maintenance repairs on machines if needed. Report any major necessary maintenance repairs to supervisor.
Notify supervisor when needed parts get low in quantity and need to be replaced. Daily communication with management regarding production outputs and maintenance concerns.
Use of tool grinding machine for sharpening of tooling. Removal and reassembly of parts after completion of sharpening.
Track completion of parts orders using green tag system and NDS.
Move completed orders to designated location for inventory to relocate.
Assist with the disposal of scrap metal for recycling.
General housekeeping and maintenance to ensure a safe and clean work environment.
Obey safety rules and exercise caution in all work activities.
