BBB Education Series: Small Business 101 Wednesday May 24, 2017 11:30am - 4:30pm 9300 Shelbyville Rd, Louisville, KY 40222 2nd Floor, Community Room Join BBB for lunch and can't miss small business information! Expert speakers will address contract issues, drug and alcohol testing, employee recognition, and credit card processing. Valuable information that your company needs, whether you're starting out or have been around for a long time! Presenters include: •Cindy Effinger of McBrayer, McGinnis, Leslie, & Kirkland, PLLC •Lisa Lee of The Genesis Shop •Ashley Wimsett of Wimsett & Co •Dave Neumann a Consultant with The Center for Nonprofit Excellence Schedule: 11:30 am - 12:00 pm - Lunch and networking - Lunch is included. 12:00 pm - 12:50 pm - Cindy Effinger with McBrayer, McGinnis, Leslie, & Kirkland, PLLC will discuss common contract issues between you and your vendors and between you and your employees, with real life examples. 1:00 pm - 1:50 pm - Lisa Lee from The Genesis Shop will discuss drug/alcohol workplace testing. Learn about reasonable suspicion, what to look for, and how to respond. Is your drug-free workplace policy up-to-date? 2:00 pm - 2:50 pm - Dave Neumann is a consultant with The Center for Nonprofit Excellence and will discuss how to create a recognition culture. Recognition is every leader's opportunity for comunicating expectations, driving high standards, reinforcing performance, and creating engagement. Dave will explore a variety of ways to successfully build a recognition culture. 3:00 pm - 3:50 pm - Ashley Wimsett from Wimsett & Company will provide information on best practices for credit card processing, including do's and don'ts and information on the fees that businesses pay. She will also talk about EMV, mobile payments, and how that affects your business. 3:50 pm - 4:30 pm - Wrap Up and Networking Talk with the presenters and your fellow attendees. Ask questions, share ideas, and swap contact information.
