The Falls of the Ohio Foundation Grand Opening of New Orientation Film

Clarksville, IN --The Falls of the Ohio Foundation announces the Grand Opening of the new orientation film "The Falls of the Ohio", September 14, 2018, 10:00 am at the Falls of the Ohio Interpretive Center, Clarksville, Indiana. The first showing to the public will begin with a ribbon cutting ceremony to commemorate the Grand Opening. Featured speakers will be Bill Reedy, The Falls of the Ohio Foundation President; Ginger Murphy, Deputy Director for Stewardship at Indiana State Parks; and Cynthia Torp, owner and president of Solid Light Inc.

"We are thrilled to showcase this extraordinary orientation film," exclaims Bill Reedy, The Falls of the Ohio Foundation President. "Visitors will now experience an unforgettable journey through time that introduces them to the interactive exhibits."

Written, directed and produced by the Solid Light team in conjunction with The Falls of the Ohio film committee, the new Falls of the Ohio orientation film features cutting-edge digital technology, that breathes life into key moments of the Falls’ remarkable history. The twelve-minute film projects to the full 38’ width of the screen from a state-of-the-art 4K (HD) projector.

"The Falls of the Ohio" orientation film delivers a powerful emotional experience – one that inspires a sense of awe and appreciation and helps visitors make a long-lasting personal connection with the Falls of the Ohio. The film also provides a seamless transition to the exhibits and the fossil beds outside, using immersive storytelling to mend every aspect of the Falls tour into one unified experience.

The Falls of the Ohio State Park Interpretive Center is open Monday-Saturday 9am-5pm and Sunday 1-5pm.

Admission fees are $9 Adults (age 12 and above), $7 Children (ages 5-11), and free for children under 5. The new orientation film "The Falls of the Ohio" is free with admission and plays every 20 minutes.

The mission of The Falls of the Ohio Foundation is to raise funds and support in-order to preserve and interpret the scientific, historical, and cultural heritage of the Falls of the Ohio and to promote educational initiatives for a better understanding of this unique natural resource.

Funding for the "The Falls of the Ohio" orientation film was provided by the Ogle Foundation, the Town of Clarksville, SoIN Tourism, the Community Foundation of Southern Indiana, and The Gheens Foundation.
